What is the error message you get?

try:

sh license right-to-use

or provide the output of sh lice ?

HTH

show l ? does not show license.

This command itself is not supported. on this 2 models.

for rest other devices it works.

output :

switch#sh li?
line link

Correct. Looking at the model number, the 3750G is an older model and so there is no license for it. Its probably the same for the 4500 if you are running an older sup.

HTH

any other way to chck or similer to that ? or only one option with sh version?

No, since the output of show license is empty, there is no license for theses models.  Licensing applies to newer models of Cisco switches, routers, sups, etc..

Licensing can be a pain :-)

so can someone guide me, how i can see whether the device is having which license. I mean its having IP BASE or IPSERVICES.

As i need to use BGP, i can see config t # router bgp supports but dont know whether the real services of BGP will work or not. because in IPBASE also it shows that you can configure but BGP service will not work.

try the feature navigator search base on the image version you are running.its here

use the command sh ver.. it should show you the s/w image being used.

I too need to use BGP, and I got 4x 4948 10GEs waiting to roll.

Yet my sh lic detail is nothing.

And:

***1(config)#ip bgp ?
new-format  select aa:nn format for BGP community
***1(config)#ip bgp

So I can't even begin the process?

Also:

***1#sh ver

It's best to open a new thread rather than add to an old one as people often don't bother opening them up.

Have you tried -

switch(config)# router bgp <AS no>

Jon

Aye, this is probably good advice.

Thanks.

Hopefully you already found the answer but you are running Enterprise Services which includes BGP

It is shown in your show version above "cat4500-ENTSERVICESK9-M"

Yes, they were purchased based on their revision level. I believe I got it working in the end, apologies I've been busy with so many other things (Ciena!) since then, I forgot about this post. Forgive me.

Thanks to you all.
