Hello,
We are looking at deploying ISR 4431 routers to replace some older 1811's.
If I have understood as well, The module evidenced "1xNIM-ES2-8 and NIM-ES2-8-P" should act like a two switch inside the ISR; numered with syntax interfaces like VSS, namely something like INTERFACE X/Y/Z.
Now the question is who I am not to able to recover in some CISCO web site:
how many SVI (sWITCHED VIRTUAL INTERFACE) or BVI (BRIDGED VIRTUAL INTERFACE) can I associate on NIM-ES2-8?
For example can I to map 2 or 3 interface, every kind, LAYER 3 on same module or NIM -ES2-8 is just Layer 2 and I cannot apply none SVI?
I found that I can create a SVI for Intrachassis Cascading, but I do not know if I can create SVI or BVI on same and alone NIM?
Any help would be appreciate!!!
Thanks to all.

Hi,
Have a look table-10 in this link. They are both just layer-2 modules.

Does the latest ISR4000 code allow for Etherchannel support yet? Is it on the horizon for the NIM-ES2-4 and -8 Modules?
Thanks,
Bob

configure one of your switch ports as an access port for vlanxxx, then configure an SVI interface vlanxxx.
interface g0/1/0
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan100
interface vlan100
ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
