Hi team

During the software upgarde on cat 4500,we observed that even though the boot system command was pointing towards the new image, the switch was rebooting with the old image even after negating the boot system commnd pointing for old image. After 2 attempts finally we deleted the old image from the flash and rebooted the switch and observed the reboot with new image. The current config register value is OX2101..Is it playing any role in this case .am quiet sure no boot system command pointing for the old image was available in the configuration..

Please suggest..

Yes, your config-register is causing that behavior.

0x2101 causes the switch to use the first system image it finds in flash .

0x2102 will cause it to use the image name specified in the "boot system" command(s).

2102 is the default, change it to the default and your issue will be solved
