I need to span a vlan between 2 sites connected via ETHERNET. What is best layer 2 solution for this implementation.
I have users in site 1 who needs to talk to users in sites 2 in same vlan.
Thanks,

To span a layer 2 domain over a layer 3 domain can use QinQ or L2TPv3 (i'm sure there are other ways but don't recall now).

If you want users on siteA to talk to users on siteB, you don't need to span the VLAN across.
I mean, you can have layer 3 IP connectivity just by using regular routing.
If on the other hand, you need to span the VLAN between a layer 3 domain, there are some mechanisms to do it
i.e.
QinQ, L2TPv3 and some others.
I just see sometimes people confused that they need to span a VLAN across a layer 3 domain, when they actually just need communication.
Correct me if I'm wrong and please describe what you need.
Federico.
