We have a switch that is not connected to any other switches. Spanning-Tree has been disabled. We are having problems with an application that is timing out.
When Spanning-Tree is disabled, does the switch's ports go directlry to the forwarding state thus bypassing the blocking, listening and learing states?
Thank you.

No, If you want the end user and/or server ports to bypass blocking, lessening and learning, and go directly to forwarding then you need to enable portfast on those ports.

No? If SPF is disabled? Are you sure?
