Hi;

Your switch is not booting via cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin, its boot with normal IOS (without K9 crypto image).

If you see the below message:

I can only see that the boot variable is not the same as Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e-UNIVERSAL-M), Version 03.04.02.SG RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

This is due to the new image you upload don't match the md5 value or during upload the image become corrupted.

Thanks & Best regards;

Hi,

What is the error message you are getting?

Also, can you post the output of "sh ver"?

Hi Ahmedshoaib,

Thanks for your response. My concern is that same image cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin is working with the second switch on same network.

(1) what is the right image to use ?

(2) I noticed the output of the bootvar below that / is missing. could it be the cause ?

BOOT variable = bootflash:cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin,12;

Anyway I will try and correct that. I think it should be something like:

BOOT variable = bootflash:/cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin,12;

if it works , I will give a feedback.

Regards.

Hi;

With reference to right image, always go with Cisco recommended/suggested IOS which is cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.06.05.E.152-2.E5.bin in your case.

Please also verify the md5 value of your IOS via verify /md5 filesystem:filename command

Thanks & Best regards;

hostname#verify /md5 bootflash:cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin

Hi;

The IOS image you upload on your Cisco 4500 cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.04.SG.151-2.SG4.bin does not matching md5 value. Meas it's not upload properly.

Please download the fresh copy and upload on your switch, again verify the md5 value and reboot switch with new IOS.

Please find the below link to download the IOS & md5 value.
