Stack 7 2960x switch with 50 cm cable

Hi to all, i've to put 7 2960-x switch in single stack, but i've only 50 cm. stack cable.

I know shold be best have a 3 mt cable to close the stack, but the customer didn't bought it.

I know i can make an-half stack, without closing the ring and i've seen an example how to stack 4 switch with 50 cm cable:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960xr/hardware/installation/guide/b_c2960xr_hig/b_c2960xr_hig_chapter_010.html#ID173

anyone can suggest how to stack 7 switch with 50 cm cable ?

any help or suggestion appreciated

It could be done like this:

But you should also think about splitting it into two stacks with four and three switches. The more switches are in a stack, the more sluggish gets the cli very often.

Hi Karsten,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I my drawing, based on ours, correct?

There is any rules to make these connections, or it's free (connection 1 can be connected with connection 1 or 2 of the other unit)?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

The main rule is that in the end, you should have a closed ring through all your switches in the stack.

Hi Karsten,

If I understand well, if we can take any way as we close the ring it's OK.

Thanks a lot, I finally understood
