stack-power commands invalid on 3750x stack 12.2.55(SE8)

We have a 3 switch 3750x stack, following configuration:

We implemented the power stacking cables in the rear of these switches for power redundancy.  However I cannot view or do ANYTHING with stack-power commands either just view, or even in global config mode.

I was under the impression that this should work in 12.2(55)SE8 because it does in another location.  Is this not a feature of lanbase (the other location is ipbase).  Or is it possible we have the power stack cables improperly connected?

StackPower is not supported in switches running the LAN base feature set.

That is completely ridiculous.  Stack power (power in general) has absolutely nothing to do with routing ip packets, advanced routing, etc...  Why would one have to take and pay for those features when there is absolutely no need for those.

I have another 2 switch 3750x running 15.0(2)SE4 verified lanbase permanent licence level and sh stack-power works

I guess I have to upgrade to 15.x train?  Obviously its working on one of our stacks running 15.

I think its draconian 500 lb gorilla tactics like this that make me want to move away from Cisco.

It may have been enabled, in LANBase, in a later release (which appears to be the case with your 15.x version.

I just tried to find that information in later release notes, but if it's there, I missed it.

Ok I confirmed with a TAC case that it was added in to the 15.x train.  Sorry for my frustration earlier it is not directed at anyone here.  I was just blown away that one would have to take an unnecessary feature set and license cost for a basic power redundancy feature.
