Stack ring went to half. Replaced Stackwise cable but still only half.

Over the weekend we got an alert that one of our stacks when to half.  The break appeared to be between switch 5 & 7.  The cable didn't appear to be loose or damaged but I replaced it anyway.  Made sure it was tight and snug.  I'm still showing that the connection is down.  Is there anything special that needs to be done prior to the link coming back up?

I have seen this happening out of nowhere in the past. I recommend you open a ticket with Cisco TAC.  I think most of the time a reboot will fix it, if not TAC most likely recommend an upgrade.

Whao, 12.2(58)SE2!
That's one buggy IOS, right there! Should've been taken out to the back and shot.
