Hi
I have Two C9410R switches, bot with C9400-SUP-1XL
I have configured both as Stack wise virtual successfully. IT was about 8 months
We have just deployed DNA Center last week
I see warning about the license and the Core isn't registered
Checking the license usage on the core, I found the following
Can stack wise virtual work with network essential , it is working from 8 months
Why it shows evaluation ? What if I modify the above license command to " license boot level network-essential " , Will I lose the stack wise virtual between the 2 boxes ?
Thanks

Hi,
The first thing to do is to figure out what license level you paid for. Once you have this info, then you would need to work with Cisco sales and support to make sure you have the right license with the right features installed. As for the below question, take a look at this link.
Can stack wise virtual work with network essential , it is working from 8 months
Cisco StackWise Virtual is supported only on Cisco Catalyst 9404R and Cisco Catalyst 9407R switches.
Cisco StackWise Virtual is supported on Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series Supervisor 1 Module (C9400-SUP-1) and Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series Supervisor 1XL Module (C9400-SUP-1XL). The feature requires a special, additional, C9400-SUP-UPG-LIC= license with Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series Supervisor 1 Module (C9400-SUP-1).
Cisco StackWise Virtual configuration commands will be recognised only on a switch running Network Advantage license. The configuration commands will not be recognised on a Network Essentials license.

Hi Reza
But stack wise virtual is working with my license boot command shown above from about 8 months
Why this warning just appear these days and what will happen when it is expired ?
Also if I won't continue to use stack wise virtual . Then I should move then to HSRP ?
Thanks

That is fine. But it is a good idea to know what license you paid for, so you can correct the issue. You don't want to have switched in production and not knowing what license you own and should be installed permanently.
Also, if the eval license expires, usually, nothing happens and the devices continue working without any issues until you reboot the switch.
Also if I won't continue to use stack wise virtual . Then I should move then to HSRP ?
Yes, if, not StackWise Virtual, then HSRP or VRRP should be used.

the main problem here is: Smart Licensing Status: UNREGISTERED/EVAL MODE
When using smart-licensing, the switch needs to register itself to a smart-management server
- either with Cisco directly
- or a (local) smart-management sattelite
- (or off-line using files)
as the registration did not yet complete, the switch functions goes to evaluation mode
in evaluation mode you can enable ANY function as if the switch is fully licensed.
as @Reza Sharifi already said : you need to to figure out what license level you paid for
you also need complete the smart-licensing registration,
purchased licenses are visible in your smart-account
so if successful a good chance is that above question is automatically answered by this registration
