One of the data ports is flashing amber. The installation guide says "Port is blocked by STP and is sending or receiving packets"
Can you exlain what this means, as it doesn't make sense for a blocked port to be receiving/sending packets.

AFAIK the blocked port can recieve BPDUs.Can you post the sh interface output?

I agree that the port can receive BPDUs, but that is not the case here; we are receiving Data Packets(frames).What is the logic behind that ?

Hi,
I think the access port might be receiving BPDU packets and the switch is blocking the port for few seconds and enabling it (errdisable recovery) and again blocks it as soon as it receives the next BPDU packet.
U can disable the BPDU guard on port or in global config mode.
