STP realtime issues and duplex settings

Recently, I encountered two questions for which I could not answer a convincing reply. They are

What are the common stp issues that happen in the realtime network?

In what scenarios we need to set the ethernet (cat5 or Fiber) mode to half-duplex?

Appreciate your answers.

What are the common stp issues that happen in the realtime network?

BB - (STP - Spanning Tree Protocol) When Layer 2 Loops occurred, Misconfiguration of STP, any u know device plugged into a network like a dumb switch.

In what scenarios we need to set the ethernet (cat5 or Fiber) mode to half-duplex?

BB - Depends on the requirement, Move to Fibre From Core to distribution, or distribution to Access Switch.

Since End device not ready for Fibre intake(Most of the devices), so we have to use Cat 5 cable

PoE only available over Cat5.

BB

If your asking about original STP, and a "realtime" network meaning something that supports traffic like VoIP, the biggest issue might be the convergence time for original STP.

Normally cannot think of a reason why you would ever use fiber in half duplex mode. However, for copper (which includes more than just cat5), the common reason would be to support a host whose NIC doesn't support full duplex, or you're using hubs rather than switches.
