strange issue with timestamp stations on new cisco switches

Dear all,

we have strange issues with our timestamp stations on new Cisco switches.

Timestamp stations have old network cards which support only 10-half speed.

On Cisco WS-C2950G-48-EI switches no problems.

On Cisco WS-C2960X-48LPS-L, port connects, negotiated speed is 10-half, but we can't ping timestamp station. If I connect a pc on the same port with the same ip address, I can ping other devices.

Another similar issue on a Cisco WS-C2960-24TC-L: on port 45 ping was not working, on port 39 no problem. Port 45 was configured for media type rj45. With pc, no problems.

We asked to timestamp stations support, but if anyone had any idea on what to check, please write a tip.

Hi,

Please check when the port is connected whether the switch learns the mac address or not.

Thanks,

Madhu.

Hi,

Please check when the port is connected whether the switch learns the mac address or not.

I confirm that switch WS-C2960X-48LPS-L learns mac-address if I connect the timestamp station

swi116_c1>sh mac address-table | in 0/19
   1    0020.4a61.bfc4    DYNAMIC     Gi1/0/19

On WS-C2950G-48-EI, the same

swi25_n1>sh mac-address-table | in 0/32
   1    0020.4a61.bfc4    DYNAMIC     Fa0/32

I checked mirroring port to another one, I see icmp request but not reply in packet capture.

Then, Last input counter of the port looks like no packets are received from timestamp station (05:42:37),

while last output counter is always 00:00:00.
