Hi,
I'm receiving this message below and my network goes down for a few minutes and then come back from the most absolutely nothing. The strange is that it is saying that the new root port is the StackPort!
Someone has ever seen something like that before?
%SPANTREE-5-ROOTCHANGE: Root Changed for vlan 1: New Root Port is StackPort3. New Root Mac Address is xxxx.xxxx.xxxx (XXXXXXX-3)
Regards.

Hello,
has you may well be aware this is a message relating to stp root change for vlan1, however regarding the stackport,
Do you have a stacked hardware like 3750's? -this is could be a cabling issue between the stackmembers.
sh spanning-tree inconsistentports
show switch
show switch neghbours
show switch stack-port

That can be normal with stacked switches. However lot of more information would needed to understrand what's happening.
