Sup 8-E Uplink Ports

I'm confused on table 2 of this doc:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps4324/data_sheet_c78-728191.html

For a single sup 8-e, I can utilize all 8-10Gb ports, but when I go to a dual sup with active/standby, I can only use 4-10Gb uplink ports (as in 7-e and lower sups)?

Am I reading this correctly, and if so, why the restriction?

Yes, you are reading it correctly.  With single sup, you can use all 4 uplinks.  With dual sups, you can use 2 from each sup.

Not sure exactly why, but I think the limitation is because slot capacity maybe up to 40Gig.

Ok.. I'm understanding it now - I mis-read it some.. I agree with you, except with the sup 8, you have 8 uplink ports not 4 (as in a 7 or previous).  So on a single sup, you have all 8 active.
