Hi,

Does anyone know what is the packet per second threshold for sup2-2ge?

The data sheet states it can run up to 30mpps. How to calculate this in production network?

15 Mpps, for whole chassis, when using non-fabric line cards.

30 Mpps, for whole chassis, when using fabric line cards (requires switch fabric module too).

Packet Size (Bytes)               64      128      256      512      1024      1518

Theoretical Maximum Kpps  1488     845      453      235        120         81

Above is for half-duplex.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for replying!

How do check if the cat6k is hitting 30mpps? is there any cmd to check this? or we have to add up all the ports mbps then convert them to pps to verify?

Thanks

Sorry, I don't know of an easy method to check "PPS" utilization.  You could, as you note, check total bps (or fabric utilization) throughput while comparing to total CPU utilization (don't forget DFCs CPU too).

A "show system" will give current traffic and when the peak utilization was. Won't be in packets per second though.

Hi Glen thanks!!!

Hi Joseph Thanks too!

CATOS command?
