Community,
I have a SUP 6-E in a 4510R chassis. I noticed that the active sup came up fine but the standby was showing Disabled in the show redundancy states output. I plugged in my console cable and lo and behold the standby sup was in ROMMON. I tried the "boot" command but it failed because there is no IOS image in the bootflash: of this supervisor. I need direction on how to load the IOS into bootflash from ROMMON. Ive scoured the internet but am unable to find an answer. Things ive tried:
1) Changing the Config register so itll load into <boot> mode. When I type confreg 0x02101 nothing happens. It stays at 0x2102. I tryed typing confreg=0x0101 but for some reason it stays permanently but does nothing.
rommon 7 >confreg 0x2101
usage: confreg
rommon 8 >set
PS1=rommon ! >
RommonVer=12.2(44r)SG10
ConfigReg=0x0102
confreg=0x0101
2) tried using xmodem command but the command isnt even available.
rommon 9 >xmodem
monitor: command "xmodem" not found
Ive pasted some output below:
rommon 10 >?
alias set and display aliases command
boot boot up an external process
clear clear configurations, use 'clear help' for more info
confreg configuration register utility
date displays the current date and time
dev list the device table with physical device information
dir list filesystem information
help monitor builtin command help
history monitor command history
macstats print management port MAC statistics counters
meminfo main memory information
ping ping utility to determine network connectivity
repeat repeat a monitor command
reset system reset
set show/set environment vars, use 'set help' for more info
sprom serial eprom operations
unalias unset an alias
unset unset a monitor variable
version display Rom Monitor version information
rommon 11 >dir bootflash:
File Size (Bytes) File Name
---------------------------------------
Total space = 122007552 bytes, Available = 116727808 bytes
rommon 12 >boot
boot: can not determine first file name on device "bootflash:"
How can I load the IOS into bootflash: from ROMMON? Thanks.

Leo,
They do! I think I see where youre going with this. If I cannot get it to go using the link Reza posted above, ill try to move the IOS to a 512MB CF card I have here and see if I can upload that way! Thanks!
