HI everyone,
Good morning!
I have some questions on our old WS-4507R core switch. I am aware that it is end of support since 2015. So does it mean I will not be able to upgrade or replace the supervisor and other line cards on the switch? We replaced the cards back in 13 years ago and just kept the same chasis that time.
If the whole switch is obsolete now, may I ask which model I should look into? We have a mixture of sfp/LC and SC and Ethernets. We also want to have a 10G or higher for the fiber connections.
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
The replacement for the 4500 series is the new 9400 series. The options are 9404, 9407 and 9410.
Have a look at the datasheet for more info.
The non-E chassis is very old and it has been EOL/EOS for a while now

What are you using the 4500 for? Access or distro/core?
For access switch, the replacement of the 4500 is the 9400 (line cards are found in Table 4).
If the 4500 is used for distro/core, you have a choice of a small form factor model, Catalyst 9500.
If you're looking for a chassis-based distro/core and you're planning a lot of 40- and 100 Gbps ports, then the natural replacement is the 9600.
