Hi,
I am sorry to let you know that Cat4003 chassis can support Supervisor I (WS-X4012) only and that one could run CatOS only (please see eg. the links beneath):
But as the Supervisor I module could basically provide only L2 features, customers required L3 features installed also L3 Services module (WS-X4232-L3) within this chassis which provided multiprotocol switching and routing functionality and that module run Cisco IOS.
Best regards,
Antonin

I believe you have to have a 4500 series chassis to run IOS and you would need at least a SupII plus supervisor. A 4003 I don't believe will run IOS , Catos only.

I use to manage a 4006 before.
This chassis has a variety of supervisor cards. The default card is the 4013 and this runs on CatOS. The 4013+, however, runs on Cisco IOS.

Okay but the 4006 can you som other Supervisor engiens than the 4003

Upon further research, I don't think WS-X4013+ (aka Supervisor II Plus) will work on a 4003.
10-25-2012 11:56 PM
And you are sure it will work?

Supervisor I is for the 4003 only.

Do you have any link to that?

Check my pervious post. It has a hyperlink to the Data Sheet of the 4000.

yes but i cannot see that the Supervisor II+ will work i can see only the Supervisor I will work in the 4003 switch

You are correct only a sup 1 will work on a 4003, if it was a 4006 chassis it would work.
