Supervisor V-10GE 10Gig Ports

Is it possible to have all four 10gig ports 'active' when I have dual Sup-V10GE's in a Cat4510R-E chassis?  I am under the impression from my research thus far, that it is not possible.

Many Thanks

Dominic

Hello Dominic,

As per the design, Dual uplinks are supported in the following modes of operation:

1) If there are two sups in the device, you can have the first TenGig of each sup active and acting as an uplink.

or

2) If there is a single sup in the chassis, then two interfaces on the same sup would be active and acting as an uplink.

You cannot have dual uplinks on a single sup active when dual sups are installed in the system.

Thanks,

Ricky Micky

I agree with Ricky.  I have SUP6-E's in my 4510R-E and able to use all the interfaces but had to oversubscribe to do it.  Your only option is upgrade.  If you haven't read the data sheet on the SUPV, i provided a URL.
