Hi,

Can someone please let me know if the following Nexus-Server topology is supported with Parent switch as Nexus 7706 / Nexus 93180-YC-EX and Fex as Nexus 2348TQ?

Server NIC is in Active-Standby state.

I checked the Cisco link but could find information about the following topology.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/nexus-2000-series-fabric-extenders/200363-nexus-2000-fabric-extenders-supported-un.html

Hi Reza,

Thanks for your response.

Actually I am aware that Fex 2348TQ is compatible with Nexus 7706 and 93180-YC-EX

My question is about the server's Active-Standby NIC connection to 2 Fex and each Fex single homed to a parent switch?  Following is the topology and the Cisco supported design document which doesn't includes the topology.

Can someone please help me in confirming if the following topology is supported?

Hi,

The server connecting to 2 different FEXs, with each FEX only single homed to only one parent switch and the server in active and stand-by links will work with no issues.  This is a common design and works just fine. I have the same exact setup.

Hello Prakash,

Supported topology for Active-Standby server NIC connection to FEX
Fex supports both Nexus 7k as well as Nexus 9k. But for Nexus 9k it only supports single homed and not dual homed.
