switch 2960: PLATFORM_ENV-3-LOOPBACK_PORT_POST_ERR

Hi all,

we have some problems on some ports of a 2960.

We have this message when we try to enable them:

PLATFORM_ENV-3-LOOPBACK_PORT_POST_ERR: Gi0/2 can't be brought up because it failed POST in Loopback test.

On Cisco site, as reccommended action I find LOG_STD_SH_TECH_ACTION. What does it mean? To check sh tech of the switch?

If yes, what should I control in it?

2 days ago switch switched off because of some test on current. Can it cause problems on single ports of the switch?

Hello,

I am afraid there is not much you can do. If the problem persists even after you completely power down the switch, let it rest for a couple of minutes and then restart it (watch closely the POST messages on the console during the bootup to see if there is any failed test!) then probably the switch got damaged in the process of current testing, and is fit for replacement.
