We have a Cisco Switch 4503-E, it restarts when you connect a cable in any ethernet port. After the reload it works fine but if you connect a new cable or change anyone it restarts again.
I am thinking in a bug but the IOS does not have any bugs reported on the Cisco Bug search tool.
Thank you very much

Is it the same if you connect the cable to a different module? I suggest you open a ticket with TAC and have them investigate. Maybe a software bug.

It just happens in the same module. At this moment we do not have a Smartnet associated to this equipment.
Thank you very much

Hello,
on a side note, what happens if you disable power over Ethernet on these ports (power-inline never) ?

Thank you. It does not have PoE feature.
Many thanks for help

- Try re-seating the particular module. Also if this is done, have a console connected and follow the console output as to whether the module is recognized sufficiently and the self-tests are successful. Verify further afterwards by issuing show logging.
