Switch upgrade recommendation

Hi,

Could use some advise. Looking to upgrade a small office network, currently using 2 CE520 24port switches since around 2009

Having upgraded the rest of the network we are now looking to replace these switches with something that supports 1000MB ports. The network consists of around 15 PCs/Polycom phones upstairs and 6 downstairs (plus usual printers/ scanners/wifi)

The switches are linked to an ASA router and then to BT fibre.

What would people recommend for this solution, either current or older stock

Thanks

Ben

If this Layer 2 Look for

Cat 1000 or Cat 9200

If you looking Layer3 and more Functionalities Look for

Cat 9300

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hi BB,

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting slightly confused as to what is termed a Layer 2/Layer 3 switch. The PCs attach directly to this switch and the Switch is then connected to ASA gateway/firewall.

I'll take a look at the link you have provided.

Thanks

Ben

As per description you mentioned its Pure Layer 2, Cat 9200 is good enough as i see the requirement.

But Cat 9300 my Favour in case in the feature you need more features.

check some compare - (if the price compare, very marginal from your vendor Cat 9200 to Cat 9300, then if you have budget go for Cat 9300).

The currectly most used switch for Access with 1 Giga I´d say is 9300.  Or maybe Cisco 350 Series Switches.
