Testing HSRP in a staging process

Hello all,

I am in the process of staging multiple 4506 with sup 5. Is it possible to test the vlans HSRP as being active before putting the switches on the network. I connected the switches and the vlan is showing up/up yet HSRP is not showing as active.

The interfaces participating in the HSRP group can ping each other ?

Can you post config from both interfaces along with the output from typing 'show stand' from both devices ?
