Thesis VSS vs Traditional Switching

I'm a student informatics and I'm preparing my thesis (VSS) for next year.

I was wondering if any of you could help me with the following:

- More information (pdf, url, videos ...)

- As VSS isn't implemented on a regular basis here in Belgium I wondered if there is

  something simular like packet tracer to practice on the configuration....

- It would also be nice to have someone who is willing to help me with this all.

  I've already conducted a pre-study on the subject but someone with experience on the job

  with whom I can communicate and exchange thoughts and ideas, would really be nice.

un-like routers, switches fwd traffic on hardware, so we do not have any tools like packet tracer to practice with ( as far as i know) .. as these all are platform specific..

Hi balaji,

first of all thank you for the complementary information. It's really usefull.

Next question to you:

Do you work for a company who provides/implements VSS (Catalyst 6500) or VS (Catalyst 4500)?

If you do, would you be prepared to fill in a survey about it? I'm looking for as many people

to get additional info as I can. But for this survey a need people who really do the configuration etc.

Survey would be ready say September/October because now I'm preparing for my exams.

If you know other people, please tell them about me. The more experienced people I get to answer

this survey, the better.
