Please see the below throughput detail for 3560 series switches,
- 32 Gbps forwarding bandwidth
- Forwarding rate based on 64-byte packets:
- 38.7 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48TS, Catalyst 3560G-48PS, Catalyst 3560G-24TS, and Catalyst 3560G-24PS);
- 13.1 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-48TS and Catalyst 3560-48PS);
- 6.5 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-24TS and Catalyst 3560-24PS);
- 3.2 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-12PC)
- 2.7 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-8PC)
In some other switches you can calculate it from the Linecards and Switch Fabric bandwidth as well. Fabric bandwidths are often quoted duplex, so for example, a 3560's 32 Gbps fabric would support up to 16 gig duplex ports w/o oversubscription; more port bandwidth may need more fabric bandwidth.
Wire-rate Ethernet, for 64 byte size packets requires 1.488 Mpps per gig, so 38.7 Mpps supports 26 Gbps (non-duplex) or about 13 gig duplex ports. (NB: larger packets require a lower PPS, i.e. often same hardware's throughput increases with increased packet size.)
PS:
The later E and X series 3560s usually offer wire-rate perfomance for all ports.
