Total OUTPUT errors are increasing

try a different qos / queueing method.

one more finding..

when i connect a laptop on the same port, i dont see any output drops increasing..only if i connect a firewall, the output drops are increasing.

do u still want me to try queueuing method ?

Remove all and any QoS or  mls commands. That for one will make the switch work the best.

However note that the interface is running 100 Mbps.If you want to avoid drops. run it at 1Gbps.

Can you try changing hold-queue limit to maximum if your switch support it ?

Command under interface level is:

hold-queue 4096 in

hold-queue 4096 out

Of course, a firewall (if its active) would generate more traffic than a laptop to cause drops... so what u need is to try different things to figure out what solves the problem ;-) u r at the scene, we r just speculating

unable to disable mls qos on the switch:

Switch_C2960#show mls qos

QoS is enabled

QoS ip packet dscp rewrite is enabled

  srr-queue          Configure SRR receive queues

----Other end wont support 1Gig and the traffic is not crossing more than 60Mbps

----About the Hold-queue:

Caution: An increase in the hold queue can have detrimental effects on network routing and response times. For protocols that use SEQ/ACK packets to determine round-trip times, do not increase the output queue. Dropping packets instead informs hosts to slow down transmissions to match available bandwidth. This is generally better than duplicate copies of the same packet within the network, which can happen with large hold queues.

So i need to get a down time to increase the hold queue.
