Hi I got an alert message from my monitoring team "Message cieLinkDown" for a device which is cisco nexus switch. I don't know what does it mean. As far as I know it is a cisco type link up/down configuration for SNMP. From monitoring team no interface is mentioned as well as no other information. Now I am puzzled, how to troubleshoot that and what actually the message means. Should I ask them for more information (if yes please specify) or something else ? Please help !

There should be more information with this message indicating on which interface the link went down and a time stamp
Is there any Syslog for that device, you might have to go thru that to see for any interfaces going down at the time.

I have just user execution level access. But one thing I found that is all the next-hop ip addresses has no direct route in this router except default-route. Is it the cause of no bgp route in routing table ?
