Trunk Configuration and etherchannel

Dear All,

I am configuring trunk and etherchannel from my Distribution switch to the access switches (LAB -I86BI_LINUXL2-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M ). What I have configured is:

1) Etherchannel in both Access and Distribution switches. 

2) Etherchannel in trunk mode with no-negotiate. 

3) No trunk configuration yet in the access switches. 

What I noticed: 

1) Distrubtion switch has Port-Channel interface in trunking mode but no the access switches. 

2) Also, Portchannel in both Dist and Access switch are up and interfaces are participating. 

Is it expected or is it due to the IOS emulation?

The behavior you've described seems consistent with a functional EtherChannel setup. The lack of trunk configuration on the Access switches is not an issue as long as you plan to configure the trunks later.
