trunk link settings

Hi,

Can someone tell me why you would want to use these settings on a trunk to another switch from a core switch?

I have found some other issues in this evironment regarding switch configurations and I need to determine why this might be done and if it represents a correct configuration for the given environment.

Thanks.

Actually I just noticed they have the exact same setting (no trunk) going to some access ports as well.

interface GigabitEthernet3/0/46

switchport access vlan 50

switchport mode access

switchport nonegotiate

switchport voice vlan 2

srr-queue bandwidth share 1 30 35 5

queue-set 2

priority-queue out

mls qos trust cos

auto qos trust cos

spanning-tree portfast

Hello Sir.

That's someone lazy : ), doing a interface range command from global configuration mode and pasting the configuration just once for all interfaces.

Not only lazy, but lazily wrong.  The config on the interface shows:

interface GigabitEthernet2/1/1

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

srr-queue bandwidth share 1 30 35 5

queue-set 2

priority-queue out

mls qos trust dscp

auto qos trust dscp

Unless the full configuration wasn't posted, there is no queue-set 2 defined.

Regards.

HB

Hello

The configuration is part of mls qos and it looks like its auto mls qos macro features.

srr priority queuing is enabled with define input traffic for these interfaces set to queue 2 .
Also output queuing bw sharing is set for the 4 queues
