Upgrade Catalyst 3750X from Cisco Prime

Hi,

I want to upgrade a number of Catalyst 3750X-switches and want to do this from Cisco Prime. When I check the recommended image version from Prime the recommended images for both the Catalyst itself and the 10G network module is listed. So my question: Should I click both images and distribute them at the same time? Or one at a time? If one at a time, Catalyst-image or module-image first?

Br,

here is working steps for 3750X :

Depend on method you choose for the best. ( even engineer does it own way)

I simplyfy for the best here :

copy the latest image to flash my example : c3750e-universalk9-mz.152-4.E6.bin

switch(config)#boot system switch 1 flash:c3750e-universalk9-mz.152-4.E6.bin   <--- do the same for all 4 switches.

check show boot

wr and reboot the stack.

Once the stack come back, upgrade Service Module.

archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://x.x.x.x/c3kx-sm10g-tar.152-4.E6.tar

Switch##sw 1 frulink reload

checking

Switch#sh sw service-modules <-- all good

my my case Sw2 also have SM Module

I will repeat the stepd for Sw2

Note : Always perform the upgrade in maintenance window, take backup config, keep the backout plan in case upgrade fails.

make sense ?

How many stacks are you planning to do?

I have 4 stacks with 2 switches in each.

4 stacks?  I'd recommend use the "archive download-sw" method.

But should the Catalyst or the network module be upgraded first?

Do you have an SM?
