Upgrade Cisco IOS on Cisco 4948 Boot Variable

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade Cisco 4948, I did the command, boot system flash bootflash:cat4500-ipbase-mz.122-31.SGA4.bin but it still does not boot up with the new image, when I did show bootvar, this is what I got

CiscocsF01a(config)#do sh bootvar
BOOT variable = bootflash:cat4500-ipbase-mz.122-31.SGA4.bin,12;cat4500-ipbasek9-
mz.150-2.SG10.bin,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
BOOTLDR variable does not exist
Configuration register is 0x2102

can anyone point out what I am missing?

Hi,

Do you get any error message on the console when it's trying to boot this release?

Als what model of Catalyst 4948 is it? That's a prety old release you're downgrading to and if it's a Catalyst 4948E it needs a minimum release of 12.2(54)SG.
