Hi,

Make sure to backup the current config to a tftp server or something alike.

Load both Sup32 with the IOS of your choice. Change the boot variable to show the new IOS. Configure them with redundancy mode SSO, reboot the chassis.

Once both sups come up use "sh redun" to make sure you are running in active and hot stand-by mode.

You need a few hours of outage in case you need to revert back to your old sups.

If you have a spare 6509, test all of these before doing it on production devices.

Hi, I'm just curious why are you upgrading from sup2 to sup32?

Hi Joseph,

I need to configure 802.1x on the switch (with IOS) and I have IP Phone and computer on each port.

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks.
