Upgraded Catalyst 4948-10GE to cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG.bin but didn't boot

Hi,

I just upgraded the IOS of 4948-10GE switch to cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG.bin, but during boot process I got this exception :

UNHANDLED ROMMON EXCEPTION at PC=0453ab5c

Vector=00000100 MSR=02029230 LR=0453ab24

MCSR=00000000

CISR0=00000000 CISR1=40000000

DDR_ERR_DETECT=00000000

What is wrong ?

Hi Tonny,

Switch needs a ROMMON upgrade to boot this image. 

Current ROMMON Version:
ROM: 12.2(31r)SGA1

The Recommended ROMMON version:
12.2(31r)SG3

Thank you for the fast reply, I upgraded ROMMON to 12.2(31r)SG3, but this didn't helped very much, the same issue persist.

Before I dig this can you please upgrade the rom to

12.2(31r)SGA4.. as this issue as been reported as bug. Once this is done I can proceed with further looking into this.

Symptom:
Unhandled Rommon Exception occurs during bootup of WS-X4013+10GE,
WS-C4948-10GE, WS-C4928-10GE, or ME-4924-10GE
Conditions:
Any of the above PIDs, booting any of the following 12.2(31)SGA8,
12.2(31)SGA9, 12.2(46)SG, 12.2(46)SG1, 12.2(50)SG, 12.2(50)SG1, 12.2(53)SG2 ,
15.0(2)SG.The issue may be seen with other software releases not listed here.
Further Problem Description:
Some customers have reported seeing the problem on any 1 or more of the
versions listed above. The root cause is not related to the software version.
This is a bug in rommon code.
This issue is resolved by upgrading the rommon version to 12.2(31r)SGA4.
