Hi Guys,
I've got a mixed stack as follows:
Switch 1 - 3750X-24P
Switch 2 - 3750G-24TS
Switch 3 - 3750G-24T
Running 12.2(53)SE2, IP base.
Now I tried upgrading the firmware on the entire stack to 12.2(55)SE4 and ran into this error:
(Command: archive download-sw /imageonly /overwrite /allow-feature-upgrade tftp://10.20.20.13/c3750e-universalk9-tar.122-55.SE4.tar)
Error: The image in the archive which would to used to upgade system number 2 does not support that system type.
I haven't as yet removed the "3750G-24TS" switch from the stack and re-tried as yet, however, is the expectation that without the 24TS, the upgrade should work?
thanks
Sheldon

Non-"X" does not take the "universal" IOS. Instead you can use the filemame "c3750-ipbaselmk9-tar.122-55.SE4.tar" for the non-"X" appliance.
By the way, I wouldn't recommend using 12.2(55)SE4. Use 12.2(55)SE5.

Hi there,
So I imagine you are suggesting upgrading each flash partition separately, with the individual files, ie. Universal and non Universal?
Thanks

HI,
However about 3750X and 3750G stacking, i get to my mind is 3750x is universal and 3750g is ipservices, you should have the same feature set on both the images., as 3750g is ipservices, you should have enabled and running with ipservices feature for 3750X.
Its better to upgrade seperately.
Regards
please rate if it helps.

Hi sandeep,
All members are running ipbase, so that won't be an issue. I'll try upgrading each member separately and see how I go.
Thanks

You upgrade the 3750X using the "universal" IOS file and you upgrade the legacy 3750G using the standard IOS file.
