I wish to upgrade the IOS software from 03.08.05.E to 3.08.07. Please let me know the procedure to do this. I can't find instructions anywhere on the Cisco site.

IMPORTANT:  Read the Release Notes

  1. Copy the IOS into the supervisor card;
  2. Compare the MD5 hash value of the IOS (in the supervisor card) against the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website;
  3. Make sure the config-registry is 0x2102;
  4. Change the boot variable string to point to the new IOS;
  5. Add a boot variable string to point to the old IOS;
  6. Save the config
  7. Reboot.

Standalone.
For VSS, between 1 and 2, add the process of "Copy the IOS into the secondary supervisor card".
