Hi Everyone,
Need to confirm thing below.
Port gi6/4 is trunk and goes to nei switch.
when i do sh int trunk it shows
Port Vlans allowed on trunk
Gi4/26 41,52,510-513,515,981
Gi6/4 1-4094
Then below i see
Port Vlans allowed and active in management domain
Gi4/26 41,52,510-513,515,981
Gi6/4 1,5,7,12-13,15-18,20,22-23,25-33,35,37-38,40-41,47,51-53,88,99-100,107,110-111,155-156,158,160,164,168,170,172,174,180,200,207,253-255,301-313,316-317,335-336,349,500-501,509-513,515,
So my understanding is that when it says 1-4094 it is allowing by default all the vlans from 1 to 4094 right?
When it says Vlans allowed and active in management domain what does it mean does it mean that these vlans are active in this
switch.
for example int vlan 110 is on nei switch not on this still it shows vlan110 does it mean that only layer 2 vlan is active on this switch?
Thanks
Mahesh

Correct Mahesh,
You allow all the vlans (1-4094) to pass through the trunk port Gi6/4 so therefor the switch now knows about all of them.

Hi,
What about this
When it says Vlans allowed and active in management domain what does it mean does it mean that these vlans are active in this switch.
for example int SVI vlan 110 is on nei switch not on this still it shows vlan110 does it mean that only layer 2 vlan is active on this switch?
So it is carrying traffic for vlan 110 to nei switch?
Thanks
MAhesh

When your Cisco switches receives an Ethernet frame without a tag on a 802.1Q enabled interface,
it will assume that it belongs to the native VLAN. I understand this one, but when this un-tagged frames are occured?and why ? ------------------pleas give me some explanation about this.
