Dear All
I am planning for a setup which is little bit complicated for me so need your advise:
Scenario is...I have 16 Machines which needs to be on a subnet 192.168.1.x.. Need to run apps which are using broadcast and multicast
I do have 16 dedicated accesspoints as well which needs to communicate with 1 machine per access point
with the trunk port I have a 2900 router connected with in the same subnet leasing DHCP addresses
My plan is:
Create 16 vlans in switch (2960)
Asssign 2 ports for each vlan which will be connected to 1 machine and 1 AP
Trunk connected to Router
So, Machine 1 will only talk to AP 1...Machine 2 to AP2 and so on...
Question:
If i connect a wireless client to AP1 or AP2...will it get a DHCP lease from Router which is connected to trunk port of the switch?
On the switch side i know that it is isolated. but with the trunk connected to router..is it going to be broadcast back to other switchports/vlans?
Thanks in advance for your help
