We have 2 server rooms in different buildings 200 meters apart. Is VSS still the only VPC alternative for IOS switches. We would have to run atleast 32 fiber pairs between buildings. Also does it create a limitation if the 6800 switches are already in VSS within another switch. Any pros/cons of doing this.
Is there any alternative to this setup where servers can connect to both switch in LACP/trunked to both switches and continue to work if switch in 1 building fails.

VSS replaced (or replacing with Stackwise Virtual ) Cat 9K support SWV- vPC is more of Nexus environment.
if they are already VSS running each building, Extending Layer 2 Port-channel is the good option ( make sure you use different blades to establish port-channels for high redundandency).
Make sure you deploy HSRP or FHRP for this work as expected Active /Active Server load-balance modes.

@balaji.bandi Do you see any issues with doing VSS between the buildings when the respective switches are already in a VSS.
Also would not all 4 switches look like a single virtual switch eliminating the need for HSRP.

VSS or SWV or vPC only 2 devices per domain, you can join domains in SWV.
but as your requirement, you need to extend the VLAN so you can do many ways.

There are different options such as OTV in Nexus to use a DWDW although because of the distance it is not so necessary, the best option is that you continue using the VSS, it is important that you have an IGMP protocol, use HSRP or VRRP to maintain active / active communication

in Server you want primary/backup not load balance so ether channel not need you can use any VM technique to make only one link primary and other link standby.
