VPC and additional spanning-tree link

Hello,

I have to n5k switches with an vpc setup.

An 2960x stack is connected to both n5k switches via VPC=> 2x1Gb uplink.

In addition I would like to add one 10Gb uplink between one nexus and the 2960 stack. This link should be become the active one.

Is this possible and recommended setup?

If the 2960 stack is connected via an etherchannel with 2 1G interfaces it's not possible to add a 10G link. All channel-goup member interfaces must be the same type and hw-characteristics (speed, duplex etc.).

You could add the 10G as a standalone interface and use (rapid)spanning tree for convergence.
