vPC between Nexus 5K and Cisco 65K no-vss

Hi Can I create vPC between N5K and C65K ? if yes how and what is the advantage ??

my scenario is like this

65K               65K

|                    |

N5K               N5K

|     |               |     |

N2K N2K     N2K     N2K

Yes you can, but not as you drawn.

If you want vPC in non VSS environment , you should have each 6k connected to each 5k.

Advantage :

         - faster failover

         - non blocking ports -comparing with same setup , but running STP

In order to use vPC you should have the 5k interconnected.

Thanks for your reply. yes our 65k are connected to each 5K and both 5k are connected togehter....let me try this....i hope it will work...hv u tested it ?/

I do not have exactly the same setup , mainly because of the VSS. I do use vPC for the server side. So you can consider that I have a server in place of your 6k.

Yes. We have two N5K connected to one 6500 via vPC. Works pretty straightforward.
