VSS 4500 License issue

Hello,

We have a quad-sup VSS and we had to make a RMA for one supervisor. When we installed the new supervisor we see the following message:

* Switch is booting up in VSS mode but the current   *
* license level of LANBASE/LANBASECRYPTO does not    *
* support VSS. Switch is being reloaded and          *
* subsequent autoboot is disabled.                   *
*                                                    *
* Please issue 'clear VS_SWITCH_NUMBER' at the       *
* rommon prompt and boot the switch in standalone    *
* mode and install the VSS supporting license on the *
* switch before converting it back to VSS.           *
******************************************************

My doubt is if there is another way to install the license or the only way is breaking the VSS?

Looks like when they RMA, you get default license Modules.

either you can raise TAC case to help and licensing or if you have image from working supervisor you can copy that to new supervisor and boot.

make sure you do in change window and take all the configuration backup.

Thanks for your reply, but we don't want to break the VSS, with this procedure we must be break it, is this right?

Send an email to License team with the serial number of the supervisor card in question, the chassis and your CCO login.  They'll be able to generate the appropriate license for you in a few minutes.

If i do this i have to break the VSS to load the license? If there is not another solution we should do that.
