I know the reason why Switch B line cards are suspended.

Starting from 15.5(1)SY4 some line cards need to have an FPGA Upgrade.  With previous versions, the FPGA upgrade was automatic, however, starting with15.5(1)SY4 the FPGA needs to be manually.

To make sure people suffer, the document about FPGA Upgrade is hidden:  Performing FPGA Upgrade

If anyone think it does not get any worse then this, then sit down for the punch-line:  The command is "GOLD" is a hidden command.

For VSS case:
Device# upgrade winters-flash switch switch-number slot slot-number bundled-image GOLD
For non-VSS case:
Device# upgrade winters-flash slot slot-number bundled-image GOLD

Hi Leo,

thanks for the comments on the post, issue is still there, I tried to follow these steps mentioned above, but same issue I have been facing.

Even whaen I tried to save the configurations following error we found

startup-config file open failed Resource temporarily unavailable

Are you consoled into both supervisor cards?

The only way to update the FPGA is by console (because they are not working).

Hi Leo,

please have a look at the below output of C6807 switch when I run the below command to convert the switch in virtual mode while in configuration of VSS, following out I see

Router#switch convert mode virtual

This command will convert all interface names
to naming convention "interface-type switch-number/slot/port",
save the running config to startup-config and
reload the switch.

NOTE: Make sure to configure one or more dual-active detection methods
once the conversion is complete and the switches have come up in VSS mode.

Do you want to proceed? [yes/no]: yes
