VTP 3 databse on 6509 is not getting sychronized with 6506 switch

hi All

While implementing VTP 3 on Datacent environment i faced following issue.

1.6506 running VTP 2 revision no is not getting sync with VTP 3 server.

i have done transparent and client configuration on 6506. but no result.

still having a issue.

Hi Samir,

Do the VTP domains match, and are you using authentication at all?

I have not tried yet to interoperate VTP2 and 3 although it is designed to be backwards compatible.

Is changing the 6506 to version 3 a viable option?

IT seems to be if VTP 2 has connected to any VTP 2 switch (regardless to Client/Sever) it will get update from those switch. It VTP 2 switch prefer VTP2 update over VTP 3.

So solution is first make connected switch in transaparent mode and make a configuration on switch which need to sync with VTP 3.
