VTP is not supported on this platform

Hi the community,

i need to configure  a new switch N3K-C36180YC-R , I have a issue with the feature VTP , is not supported and i don't find some information about this

some added informations:

NXOS image file is: bootflash:///nxos.9.2.2.bin

result:

x-nexus-XXXXX-X(config)# feature vtp
VTP is not supported on this platform

someone have an idea about it?

VTP is not supported by the Nexus 3K line as they are datacentre switches and VTP is an enterprise/campus feature.

Most cases we use nexus in Datacenter, where we use standard vlan to configure.

see if you can enable -feature vtp

thks for your feedback , me too I have a lot of N3K series with VTP activated (just in transparent mode)

but on this one when I push the command here i the result:

x-N3K-XXXXX-X(config)# feature vtp
VTP is not supported on this platform

I don't undrestand why?

Hello!

The other Nexus 3000 switches you have in your environment may be Nexus 3000, 3100, 3200, or 3524/3548 switches. This switch is a Nexus 3600 switch, which has a different underlying ASIC and architecture from other Nexus 3000 switches that may be in your environment. For that reason, the intended use and supported feature set of Nexus 3600 switches is different from that of other Nexus 3000 switches.
