Vtp problem with a 2960 switch lan lite (release

i have a switch 2960 with a lan lite [release 12.2(50)SE4] ios connected directly a switch 3750 that is configured as server, when i try to put a switch 2960 as vtp mode client or server, this tells me that is set up correctly, but when i check the vtp status, it´s configured as mode transparent. I hope someone can help me.. thanks.

Hi Fredy,

Please verify the show vtp status and show vlan brief on VTP server and try to find how many vlans are enabled.

The problem is "Hardware Features for Cisco Catalyst 2960-S and 2960 Series Switches with LAN Lite Software supports  upto 64 VLANs"

Thats the reason this switch falling into Trasparent mode. There is no work around, need to change better hardware to eleminate this issue.

Please try to use another hardware and see if u still having the same issue.

Like switch with not LAN lite image.

Hi,

Yes, Cisco Catalyst 2960-S and 2960 Series Switches with LAN Base Software switch support Maximum vlan 255.
