Hi Yann,

What you looking for can be found in the Cisco 2960S Configuration Guide at the following section "Classifying, Policing and Marking Traffic on Physical Ports by Using Policy Maps"

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12.2_53_se/configuration/guide/swqos.html#wp1044737

thank you for the quick reply but I have just checked IOS features and I can see that a new option exists about " SPEED AUTO 100"

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps5528/prod_bulletin0900aecd80122f85.html

so it means the switch is able to limit the speed to 100 and let the auto negotiation process to work.

thanks

Interesting, but as you can see this technology isn't available on  C2960S only on 2970, 3750 & 3560.

I just check on my own on Feature Navigator and it's interesting because Cisco state that only these platforms are supported for the feature you asking for:

Forced 10/100 Autonegotiation

The forced 10/100 autonegotiation feature provides an option to limit  interface speed autonegotiation to 100 Mbps or less on a  10/100/1000BASE-T port.

Platform Tree

Cat4948 with different models

Cat4900M

Cat4500 & C4500E with different sup card and IOS or IOS XE

Stephane

I saw that it was not supported on the 2960S but it is, I have just configured the port with "SPEED AUTO 100" so it works on 2960S platform

Yes it's in the Conf Guide of the C2960S:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12.2_53_se/configuration/guide/swint.html#wp1080632

And in fact, this isn't the same feature that i find on Cisco Feature Navigator.

Yours block the negociation to the specified speed it is not possible to have another, the "Forced 10/100 Autonegociation" permit to do negociation of 100Mbps or less, this one goes beyond and it is limited effectively to certain type of Catalyst.

Stephane

Interesting, but as you can see this technology isn't available on  C2960S only on 2970, 3750 & 3560.

The command "speed 10 100" is available to the 2960/2960S.  I have this command configured.
