I've implemented WDS and have AP's associated to the WDS master.
All clients associate fine using LEAP.
My question is -
When you create the ssid "whatever" on an INFRASTRUCTURE ap.
is it necessary to specify the type of authentication under the ssid? as in entering the commands "authentication open eap (whatever)"
authentication network-eap (whatever)
As well as the type of encryption used for that ssid and vlan?
as in
encryption vlan X mode "whatever"
Or do you need to only specify the type of encryption and not the authentication methods?
Thanks for the assistance.

Hi Gabriel,
Not required. No need to mention authentication and encryption until otherwise required......

Okay thats cool.
So just do a dot11 ssid "whatever"
then for the encryption for that vlan and ssid just leave it blank!
and apply the ssid to the dot0 side.
Would you know of any document that describes in DETAIL how WDS works or authenticates between infrastructure and masters? I know of the document that gives you a kind of basic overview of how it works.
Again thanks for the assistance!
