Am looking at a problem with Windows deployment server on 2008, customer wants to use multicast deployment and it's not working.
There are 2 switches involved, 2960 connected to a Nexus 7010. The WDS is one vlan, the clients in another, all connected into the 2960.
The Nexus is configured for PIM sparse mode, with IGMP v3 on both SVI's and the RP loopback interface. The RP group covers the groups used by WDS.
According to information I've read on the WDS it uses IGMP v3 by default.
However the Cisco feature navigator indicates that the 2960 only supports IGMP v1 and 2. So what will it do with a IGMP v3 join message, forward or drop?
If the server and clients are connected together in the same vlan (on the same 2960) the multicast deployment works.

According from these two links, IGMPv3 is supported on the 2960:

Thanks Jerry,
I'll disregard the feature navigator in favour of that documentation. I may get chance to go to site to take a closer look at this issue.
